BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship Program
In recognition of the extraordinary bravery and dedication demonstrated by medical front-line personnel in their fight against COVID-19, BPI Foundation are proud to announce PAGPUGUAY – a scholarship program that provides support for the families affected by this virus. The courageous efforts made during these testing times have not gone unnoticed; BPIF is doing its part to ensure those who lost loved ones can continue pursueing educational aspirations with peace of mind.

BPIF has proudly supported 15 collegiate scholars since its inception in 2020, and we look forward to continuing this mission. For the upcoming Academic Year 2022-2023, our program will offer up 8 new scholarship recipients an opportunity for financial aid with a total stipend of P100,000 – aiding them on their journey towards academic success! Our partner university ensures that these funds are applied directly towards tuition expenses as well as other necessary school costs associated with each regular term throughout the year.
ELIGIBILTY:
We pay tribute to the medical front liners who selflessly put themselves in danger during this pandemic. These heroes made the ultimate sacrifice or contracted COVID-19 while serving their community. To honor them, we are offering qualified next of kin special assistance and support for coping with these tragic losses:
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Medical technologists
- Community health workers
- Administrative, utility, and support services personnel in health care facilities
If the deceased is married, priority beneficiaries will be the children. If single, beneficiaries can be next of kin up to 3rd degree of consanguinity.
- Applicants should be college/university students (1st year-4th year/5th year) of BPIF’s partner schools,
- To qualify, eligible students must have and maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent, or meet University standards for the previous academic year (for incoming 1st year) or for the previous semester (for incoming 2nd year-5th year).

Partner Schools will carefully review all applications, selecting their top three nominees who stand out in academic excellence and financial need to be submitted to BPIF. These special scholars will then go through an evaluation process by the foundation before being formally notified of acceptance via fax or email – a thrilling moment that could lead them one step closer towards achieving success!

- Endorsement letter, duly signed by the authorized representative of the hospital health care facility where the medical front liner was assigned
- Original or authenticated copies of the following:
- Course curriculum
- If a child of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant 9. If a sibling of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant and the front liner showing their common parents
- If a nephew/niece of the medical front liner, birth certificate of the applicant, together with the birth certificate of the applicant’s parent and the medical front liner showing their common parents
- If a widow/widower of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated marriage certificate of the medical front liner.
- PRC ID or License ID of the medical front liner
- If medical front liner is deceased, death certificate of the medical front liner-indicating COVID-19 or complications due to COVID-19 as cause of death
- If medical front liner is still living, medical certificate of the medical front liner-indicating COVID-19 in the findings
- Latest ITR of parents/guardian of the applicant
- Latest previous academic year Transcript of Records or Copy of Grades
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- Only the applications with complete requirements will be processed.
- Scanned copies of application form and other supporting documents may be submitted. Hard copies will be required once applicants are selected for the scholarship.
